Gaiaspace
Structures has been designing and manufacturing Geodesic Domes since
1995. The original GaiaDome1 series domes measure 12 metres in diameter
and have frames made from wood. Our latest structures, the GaiaDome3
series, are made from aluminium and are available in a number of sizes,
ranging from 10 metres to 25 metres in diameter. We also design and
manufacture a number of complimentary systems, including the GaiaPod
covered stages.
For all
dome sales enquiries, please email sales@gaiaspace.co.uk

The
Gaiaspace Domes
The Gaiaspace dome designs allow for immediate headroom when
entering the space with internal capacities from around 400 to over
1000 people. The load-bearing nature of these geodesic structures permit
a multitude of rigging arrangements, allowing for a versatile range
of and staging configurations. With no need for guys or stakes, they
can be used indoors or out, on any hard, reasonably level ground.
All
our domes are built to order and can be supplied with a wide range
of all weather coverings, which can include surround projection screens,
black-out material, windows, or tailor made panels or covers featuring
colours and images of your own choice.
Used
for theatre in the round, circus, corporate events and product launches,
exclusive weddings, surround cinema, as an intimate music stage, a
café or bar, workshop space or simply for those events that
require something more than a marquee, the dome’s solid yet
airy cathedral-like space is ideal.
The
GaiaDome1 is made from fully weather and fire treated Canadian pine
and comprises of hubs and struts connected to one another in a ‘3
phase’ geodesic arrangement. This 12m diameter by 8m high dome,
has an internal capacity of 400.
The GaiaDome2
is made from high grade aluminium (5083-0) and comprises of hubs and
struts connected to one another in a ‘3 phase’ geodesic
arrangement. This 16m diameter by 9.5m high dome, has an internal
capacity of 1000.
The
GaiaDome3 is our latest series, measuring between 10 and 25 metres
in diameter. The 18m model shown here is 10.7 metres high and has
an internal area of 250 square metres.
Surround
Video Projection Rig
We have developed a range of video projection rigs that enable
the user to project images over the surface of our domes.
These range from basic packages that can project single images on
five separate screens at once, right the way through to extensive
light shows and being able to project different multiple images on
any number of screens within the space.
Gaiaspace
Multi-Domes and Tunnels
Both domes can be linked via tunnelled walkways in almost any configuration,
allowing them to be adjoined to other permanent venues or other
structures - including other domes.
Emergency Lighting and Disabled Access
Both domes can come complete with emergency exit lights, disabled
access ramps and 13/16amp cable loom around their circumference.
Health
and Safety
We supply a full risk assessment and health and safety report for
each job as required and comply with individual event licensing
and public liability insurance needs.

Dome Design
Conceived by R.Buckminster Fuller, a geodesic dome is a
sphere-like structure composed of a complex network of triangles.
The triangles create a self-bracing framework, which gives structural
strength while using a minimum of material. The term geodesic is
from Latin, meaning earth dividing. A geodesic line is the shortest
distance between any two points on a sphere. Inspired by the pioneering
work of R. Buckminster Fuller, our Gaiaspace Domes have been designed
and built through a continual process of evolution and refinement,
reflecting the diverse range of people who have come together to
work under the umbrella of Gaiaspace.
Gaiaspace
Productions welcomes dome commissions and the exchange and collaboration
of ideas for the design and construction of new domes. For further
